Chapter: Chapter 16: Family Life
Happy Wednesday, and happy thanksgiving to my American readers! I, a Canadian, am enjoying three days of bonus vacation due to it, which I am very thankful for. 🙂
Alex’s pink room finally gets the makeover she’s deserved since she moved into the place as an adult

TRANSCRIPT
(textless, as are most pages in this chapter; Imogen scrutinizes a yellowed photo of a young Alex sitting in her bedroom – largely unchanged from the bedroom of today. She repaints and assembles new furniture while Alex watches, and they toast to the new sage-green bedroom)
Alex looks sa relaxed here even if she is scry receiving some help, even extra help!
Oh, this is huge. Alex has owned this house for a bit, but she’s left things frozen in place. Her and Imogen changing things (looks great, by the way) is enormous for her, and really shows she’s choosing to move forward.
They passed the Ikea couple’s test!!!!XD
THIS! (Laughs)
(that was meant to be a reply to (agreeing with) Mel above, don’t know how I whiffed it.)
Ohh redoing your bedroom can be so overwhelming but can do so much for healing and opening new chapters in your life. Good for her 🙂
I like that their clothes either indicate they somehow did of this all in one day, which like, wow good for them, or that Alex owns exactly one set of comfy clothes (I read Imogen’s clothes more as the kind of clothes all of us have when we want to do something messy and gritty.) That said, it’s actually nice to see Alex in said comfy clothes, it’s a long way from all the stylish looks she had in the beginning. Clothes can say so much about someone’s emotional/mental state
Well, you got me hooked!
A user on BlueSky posted your web graphic novel and I started reading and boy, I felt every character and their personality and their journey. Imogen reminds me of my best friend’s wife–a woman with two kids from a previous heteo relationship befote meeting up with my friend and her instructor. They’ve been together now for 20 years! Trust me, this may be a fictional story with universal connections.
I’m a PFLAG ally, a friend of the community, and someone who appreciates a good story in graphic form and your story is one I can’t wait to see how it develops!
