Imogen: I know that money is tight, but I need you to tell me if we’re in trouble. Tell me honestly.
Panel 5 (open; Jonathan and Imogen look at each other without speaking)
“Because you looked bad”? !!!???!????!!!
Classic abuser behavior. It’s her fault for feeling embarrassed and questioning him.

There is a nice warm bed next door with a very sweet person in it, Imogen. You don’t even have to go very far!
So the guy is an ass and a half and screw him.
Also, I love love LOVE how curvy you drew Imogen! I just had an honest moment of, MY TUMMY DOES THAT! My tummy does what she does and she’s cute!
The way he phrased that first line just kills me. “Because you looked bad.” Made it about her, and not about the fact that he was responsible for her negative feelings and embarrassment.
Jonathan getting dunked on is what fuels me now
