TRANSCRIPT
(Another largely textless page. It’s night, and Imogen is brushing her teeth. She looks down at the floor to see Jonathan’s crumpled-up work shirt on the floor by the toilet. She sneers at it in disgust, then looks at herself in the mirror. In the mirror, over her shoulder, is Jonathan sleeping in bed. At three point in the page are the words ‘her middle name’ floating on/around Imogen)
Soooo…I need that on a wall somewhere in my life: “violence: chosen.” I’ve now learned what Dutch angles are.
All of this chapter’s textless pages really are giving me life every week. I love the details. Also, shout out to that starry sky making me jealous.
These are not the facial expressions we’re used to seeing on Imogen. I’m not looking forward to the pain that’s coming, but that’s a fightin’ face. After all she’s tolerated from him it’s nice to see that budding spark of indignation in her. Looking forward to learning more about Imogen as the story unfolds!
I am almost certain he is not cheating on her. My guess for hiding the finances is either (negative) he has gambling debts or (positive) he is moving money around to pay for Imogen to go back to school.
I promise you, he almost certainly is cheating.
If you think that’s not cheating, you need to think some more about betrayal.
Also: -> “her middle name”. <-
Given J is sleeping, or “out” if you will, we can also add
Dick: Out
I don’t know what he’s doing… but whatever it is it’s entirely unacceptable. He fully deserves the fight he has coming, especially for suggesting there’s no point in her pursuing further education. He’s controlling, creepy and he hit on her friend.
You kick butt, Imogen. We’ve got your back.
Diiiid not even notice jman sleeping in the mirror until reading the transcript ahaha…..
but i really, really like this page
