This first panel was the first thing I drew after taking pretty much six weeks off of drawing, and it was a relief to look at it and think, ah, I still got it. I was genuinely worried there, for a few days. I haven’t taken that long a break… ever, probably.

Alex doesn’t look pleased. I’m scared now. At some point I feel like they’re going to have their first argument and I hope this isn’t it…..
And how do people make up after arguing???
I don’t think it’s a look of displeasure. I think it’s a mix of shock that she said that, plus sudden realisation as she is prompted to notice her feelings for what they are for the first time. (I may be projecting my hopes with that second part.)
