Panel 3 (textless; Imogen and Alex look towards the kitchen, alarmed)
Panel 4 (Imogen, close-up, panicked)
Imogen: He’s home? Why? Alex, I don’t want to talk to him! What do I do?!
Panel 5 (Alex beginning to usher Imogen away)
Alex: Go pack. I’ll deal with him.
Cause SOMEONE’s not employed/working the hours he told her and now can come home when he wants without needing to maintain the lie
I have a sinking feeling that during their “discussion” that he is going to accuse her of stealing Imogen away from him because “she’s a lesbian” and just wants her for herself. Because, you know, lesbians can’t just have female friends or want to help other females without ulterior motives. /sarcasm
You know, the completely bullshit thing assholes do when they’re caught fucking up. They have to project and gaslight to try to take the blame off themselves.
I just hope Alex doesn’t take anything he says to heart. We know that we have seen Alex having thoughts and perhaps even a crush on Imogen, but it has literally nothing to do with how HE messed up and she is the one there to help her heal.

Could be, but the typical loser/abuser move would be flowers and apologies.
She’s a stay at home mom so that would be phenomenally stupid on his part. I know she’s staying next door…. But that’s literally next door like she would hear his car either way. If he seriously is that stupid then just yikes.
It seems more likely that he’s planning to ambush her while she’s alone. Either lovebombing or aggression, either way.
I could totally see someone like him doing that, though. To him, she’s *just* a stay at home mom. She cleans for him, cooks for him, and makes the babies. She stepped out of line and is threatening his way of life. What better way to make someone come crumbling down than to shove in their face the “upgrade”? Hopefully I worded that correctly.
