Chapter: Chapter 11: Transition
Happy Wednesday! <33 It was Family Day for us on Monday, which ironically cut into the time available to work on comics this week, haha.

TRANSCRIPT
Panel 1 (textless; Imogen watches Lucas leave while Alex enters the kitchen from the patio door)
Panel 2 (Alex, surprised)
Alex: Whoa, looks like a bomb went off in here.
Panel 3 (Imogen apologizing)
Imogen: Sorry, it’s haircut day… I promise I’ll clean it up. Sorry, sorry…
Panel 4 (Alex, through a strained smile)
Alex: It’s fine! I’m just… still not used to coming home to this many people.
Something about this irritates me on a molecular level. I feel for Alex with every fiber of my introverted soul, but jeezus. Imogen has already had so much to deal with.
I think this is Alex grinning and bearing it, she’s just, well, less experienced doing that than Imogen is. It’s a lot to adjust to, but she’s trying to be a rock here for Imogen, I figure.
We don’t know how long this has been going on – presumably a few weeks – or how much else she has going on.
A house with that many kids can be LOUD and tough on the nerves for someone used to calm, quiet, and reset. She’s lost a lot of freedom within her own living space and also has her own life stuff going on that can be stressful.
Buuuuut yes I get what you mean. Imogen is already in a really fragile place and any sense that she’s becoming a burden on Alex or needs to just forgive and forget and play happy family again – well it is not needed.
While I think Alex is likely being very reasonable right here, I also get the protectiveness and wish Alex had not just done that.
